C. Paul Keyser papers, 1916-1966 (bulk 1944-1966).

The collection contains reports and correspondence regarding parks, recreation, and cultural facilities in the city of Portland. Included are reports regarding Forest Park, the restoration of the Forestry Building, Oregon Dunes National Park, the Portland Art Commission, and Myrtle Woods. Materials on Forest Park were collected in preparation for a published history of the park and include suggested outlines, historical information, drafts, and the final report titled "History of Portland's Forest Park" by Thornton T. Munger, in collaboration with C. Paul Keyser, 1960 (formerly designated Mss 2383-1).

Thornton Taft Munger was born in North Adams, Minnesota, in 1883. He attended Hillhouse High School and Hotchkiss School in Connecticut, before attending Yale University (Class of 1905). Munger was a forester in Portland, Oregon, with the U.S. Forest Service and in 1924 became director of the Pacific Northwest Forest Experiment Station.
